In response to a specific customer request, Navicom Dynamics is offering an optional further enhancement to its leading offshore product ShuttlePilot.
FSO and FPSO with turret moorings are particularly interested in knowing that the anchor legs of the mooring system remain in tact.
Also in the case of external turret moorings (particuarly if the vessel is in a geographical area of significant wind, swell and current), it is important to know that the vessel is not either going to hit the mooring if surging forward, and not going to put too much strain on the mooring if surging astern.
Navicom Dynamics has built into its ShuttlePilot system a comprehensive warning system to advise the operators if the vessel's bow is moving away from its nominal stable position. This is done with visual and audible alarms. These alarms are also activated if the vessel is surging either too close to, or too far away from an external turret mooring.
These warnings are shown on a dedicated screen in the Control Room, and can also be output to the vessel's ICSS if required.
