ShuttlePilot is a precision navigation system for the offshore oil and gas industry. It provides the pilot and master with a real-time, accurate and independent picture of the relative positions and movement between two vessels.
- Monitor and control Shuttle tanker approaches for FPSO/FSO offtake operations (tandem mooring or alongside mooring)
- Monitor alignment of vessels during tandem mooring offtake operations for early warning of developing jack-knife situation.
- Monitor and control shuttle tanker approaches for SPM operations
- Monitor and control FPSO/FSO approaches for mooring reconnection operations.
FPSO/FSO - OFFTAKE/SHUTTLE TANKER operations

ShuttlePilot allows the ability to view both the FPSO/FSO and offtake or shuttle tanker together, on a single display.
ShuttlePilot is made up of three main components - ShuttlePilot Fixed (SPF), ShuttlePilot Portable (SPP) and ShuttlePilot Remote (SPR). SPF is installed onto the FPSO/FSO, while SPP is carried on board any offtake or shuttle tanker. These units supply real-time position, velocity and heading data for the vessels they are on. SPR receives, combines and transmits both sets of data to the pilot/master's laptop, so it is placed within WiFi range of the laptop.
This gives the pilot and master a full picture of the relative positions and movements between the FPSO and Offtake/Shuttle Tanker.
The final component of ShuttlePilot is SPD - this is essentially a rugged carry case to house the SPR, the laptop and all cables, batteries, chargers etc. When not in operation, the entire system fits neatly into one fixed rack bin and two rugged, waterproof carry cases.

FPSO - SPM operations

ShuttlePilot allows the ability to view both the FPSO/FSO and mooring together, on a single display.
ShuttlePilot Fixed is installed onto the FPSO/FSO, while the ShuttlePilot Portable system is set up on board the mooring (position only - no heading).
The system works much the same as the FPSO/FSO to offtake/shuttle tanker, and each system generates its own independent vessel data including FPSO/FSO heading, position and movements - in real-time.
This gives the pilot a full picture of the relative positions and movement between the FPSO/FSO and mooring for a smooth and controlled reconnection.
